Mangalasasanams from HH Sri Sri Sri Triclandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Joeyar Swamiji on the occasion of Silver Jubilee Celebrations 2019

Priya Bhagavat Bandhus!

Jai Srimannarayana!

Our JEEYAR EDUCATIONAL TRUST at Chennai started its activities in 1993 and began a sublime journey of conducting Competitions from 1994 as a prelude to Virat Sri Vishnu Sahasranama organized there in 1995.

The mission was to promote spiritualism among children through participation in various competitions based on themes from scriptures.

Now it has reached a celebrative milestone in the journey, the 25th year, Rajatha Uthsavam.

It is a time to pause a while and reflect on all the good work done. It is a time to pledge to continue with the same zest.

Our mangalasasanams to the members of Jeeyar Educational Trust, Chennai.

Children are born with "spiritual competence", an inner quality or power for faith development. As they are exposed to the social structure of this world they see a variance in what is being taught and what is being practiced. There is a conflict in their minds. A sort of manthan of thoughts. This is the time for us to help them to separate the poison from the Amrutha and help their spiritual development.

The spirit of inquiry so alive in them, should not be quelled. They must question and must express their doubts. However, they should be guided in such a way that the manner in which they express their doubts should generate positivity and not negativity. Any concept thrust on children will be rejected, but they will easily imbibe what they see practiced around them.

Spirituality in children must not be limited to religious practices like visiting temples and praying. Of course, these are an important part of early childhood learning.

However, the personal and communal domains of spirituality must also be touched upon.

The children must be made to feel the joy of living by appreciation of their efforts.

They must inculcate the habit of extracting a lesson from every mistake they make or every failure they face.

They must learn to face the ups and downs of life with equanimity. This they will learn only if they see the adults around, them doing the same.

The emotions of children should be gently guided towards acceptable forms of expression.

As they approach adolescence the fire in them should not be allowed to die down but be channelized to give warmth rather than burn things down.

Empathy for the suffering of others and a desire to serve should be encouraged, not by mere words, but by example of our own actions.

Our mangalasasanams to all the members of our Chennai team for their tireless efforts.

Our special mangalasasanams also to all the children and parents who have participated and will be participating in these events.
